Black Leader Calls on Obama, Presidential Candidates to Renounce Riots, Anti-Police Violence

Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND and author of “The Antidote: Healing America from the Poison of Hate, Blame, and Victimhood,” said enough is enough and it is time for President Obama and the presidential candidates to repudiate the riots and anti-police violence that is gaining national and world attention.

“I’m calling on President Barack Obama and the presidential candidates to repudiate these riots and anti-police violence in the strongest terms possible. Rioting and looting are not acceptable forms of protest. Charlotte city officials should not reward these thugs by permitting them any more opportunities to attack police and hurt law-abiding citizens, “said Peterson.

“The officer who shot Keith Lamont Scott was black, so where’s the ‘racism’? What is taking place in Charlotte has nothing to do with civil rights, “said Peterson. “The rioters are a bunch of angry Black Lives Matter goons who hate police and whites. They are looking for any excuse to riot, loot, and hurt police.”

Peterson continued and said, “I hold Barack Obama, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson responsible for fomenting this toxic culture of hate, blame, and victim-hood that is creating chaos in our cities.”

“I commend Donald Trump for reaching out to black voters and for holding town hall meetings with black Americans. I would encourage him to deal with this issue in an honest and forthright manner and not to pander to Black Lives Matter and other race hustlers like Obama and Hillary Clinton are doing.”

Peterson’s response came after a night of violence over a police officer’s fatal shooting of a black man, Keith Lamont Scott, sixteen police officers were injured and some motorists were hurt after being pelted with rocks and bottles by rioters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
